3000 Hits = Give-away

Okay, so, maybe 3000 hits is nothing to you professional bloggers out there, but I’m pumped to have hit 3000 hits just yesterday!  I’m not gonna lie: I was watching closely, pushing F5 in hopes of catching the 3000 mark.

As you can see, I missed.  Dang you, hyperboleandahalf for distracting me!

I don’t even have ADD.

Boy that snow outside is snowy.

To celebrate, I’m giving away some free photo edits!

Scoop:

  • To enter, comment this blog with your answer to this question: If you could photograph any thing/place in the world, what would it be?  Why? (I have to ask the “why” question at the end or my students would feel like they’re the only ones who do any work around here…)
  • Entries will not be taken after Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 11:59pm EST.
  • The winner must have a valid email address and able to correspond via email, including answering questions (like, what do you intend to do with the pics?  frame? facebook? give them to Great Aunt Wilma as a keepsake?) and sending of one or more digital copeis of a non-copyrighted picture to my email address.
  • One lucky winner will get up to ten photos edited for FREE!  A winner may choose to have one photo edited several times, like my sister did (example below), or ten pictures edited.  Either way, the winner will receive ten edited pictures and up to three storyboards/collages!  (Maybe I’ll feel inspired and send a little sumfin extra, but there’s no promise of that.)
  • The winner must also agree to allow me to show off my work on this public blog.

Thanks for showin’ up, peeps!  Keep coming around and who knows what we can get into together… in a good way, of course.  Of. Course.

  1. I would choose to photograph the vineyards of Italy. I actually had a very vivid dream once that I was in an Italian vineyard with Dave. I was barefoot just looking around me and I remember the sunshine and the breeze. I remember in my dream that I told Dave that I didn’t want to leave there and that for some reason the land was calling me. It may have been a weird dream but I remember crying in my dream and when I awoke. I would love to visit Italy and go to the vineyards and photograph there!

  2. I would do a photo session of Yosemite National Park because it is cool scenery and I haven’t been to that park since I was very young.

  3. I had to take some time to think about this… although there are many places that I have been, and even more places that I have never been that I would like to go to, I think I have to go with the “thing” I would most like to photograph more than anything in the world! I would like to photograph everyone in my family. If I had the time, I would like to do some research, and see how far and wide the branches on my family tree go. I would like to build a family tree with photographs. Now if I could have anything I wanted, I would want for every branch of that tree to still be alive and well so that my tree would be enormous and grand! I think the process would be just as amazing as the product at the end! Isn’t this why we take photos in the first place–so we can remember forever?

    • That is just precious, Jude! Love it! I think that would be an amazing project and I’d bet you’d be able to gather some sweet old pictures, too, which would add to the charm of the project. :)

  4. So… first… You rock! Second… If I could photograph anything in the world it would be letters found in everyday objects. I would love to have a “natural” alphabet to put in frames for my kid’s room someday with “found” letters.
I just think it would be neat.
Be blessed and hope to see you soon!

    • Thanks, Ashaw! That is a sweet idea. I’ve seen some people do these; we have a “Pray” plaque on our wall with “found” letters like you describe. It’s very cool. You should do it and share them with me. :) OR we could split the alphabet. hehe…
